Perri Ink Guitars Releases The Native Guitar

Seymour Duncan Artist Nick Perri (Shinedown, Perry Farrell, Silvertide, Matt Sorum, SINAI) has released a new line of guitars under his custom guitar brand Perri Ink Guitars. The Native comes in two distinct flavours - the Traditionalist and the Atomic Punk.

The Traditionalist is a vintage themed guitar with a Strat®-style 6 point tremolo, and comes loaded with a Trio of Vintage Staggeredsingle coils. The Atomic Punk is a more modern design with a double-locking tremolo. It comes loaded with an Alnico II Pro or Custom Shop '78 in the bridge, Vintage Staggered single coil in the middle position, and Lipstick Tube for Strat® in the neck.

All Perri Ink guitars are built by hand in Nick's shop Perri Ink Cartel in Los Angeles, CA.

I asked Nick what he liked about Seymour Duncan pickups, and why he chose the models used in the Native guitars:

"I've been using Seymour Duncan pickups for over a decade, and have always turned to them for my guitar projects. I feel like the attention to detail and overall care level that goes into their products and developments is far above stock production pickups.

For my newest creations from PERRI INK. Custom Guitars, the Native, I chose 2 different pickup setups. For the more traditional SSS, I went with the classic Vintage Staggered pickups. Terrific tone, punch, balance, and a classic vibe that's hard to beat.

For the more radical HSS, I went with a combination of pickups I've adored for years.. a Lipstick Tube for Strat® pickup in the neck, a Vintage Staggered in the middle, and a Alnico II Pro or Custom Shop '78 Model in the bridge.

The Lipstick pickup is such a hidden gem in the guitar's tonal spectrum. It's jangle and sizzle are incredible! The Vintage Staggered is a given. The Alnico II Pro is a killer humbucking bridge pickup, and the upgraded option to go with a Custom Shop '78 Model is over the top badass. If you're not in the know about the '78 Model pickup, do some homework. That's all I'm saying!"
