Yellow Submarine Themed Floating Hotel Opens in Liverpool
A new hotel based on the Beatles' classic 'Yellow Submarine' has
opened in the Fab Four's hometown, reports
The floating hotel, which is a 80ft narrowboat moored at Albert
Dock in Liverpool, can accommodate up to eight people. The concept
is the branchild of businessman Alfie Bubbles and has been painted
to mirror the image of the iconic vessel, which also featured in
the 1968 film of the same name.
The hotel features an original scooter from the film Quadrophenia
which sits in the psychedelic lounge, while the three bedrooms -
boasting decor inspired by the 1969 album - all come fitted with 3D
televisions, computers and wi-fi.
Rooms are priced at £149 per night, from Monday to Thursday, and
£299 and £350 from Friday to Sunday.
The boat was previously used in 90's thriller The Hunt for the
Red October, starring Sean Connery, which was partly filmed in
Yellow Submarine, based on the song by John Lennon and Paul
McCartney, follows the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, as
they travel to a city under the sea to confront the music hating
