Ramrod's Guitarist Laid to Rest in 12ft Fender Strat'
Shaped Coffin -
Late Ramdrod's guitarist John Graham was laid to rest yesterday
in a 12 foot guitar shaped coffin.
Craftsman spent months designing and building the coffin in the
shape of his beloved Fender Stratocaster, which he received as a
gift when he was just 15.
The lifelong musician joined the Ramrod's in 1963, not to be
confused with the Detroit punk outfit of the same name, and went
onto tour with the Animals, Johnny Kidd and Gerry and the
Pacemakers. The band then stopped touring in 1967 after
founding member Phil Crowther died.
However, the band continued to play local gigs and Mr. Graham
continued to record with his wife, June performing vocals.
