The Foo Fighters Look Set for Long Hiatus
The Foo Fighters Look Set for Long Hiatus -
The Foo Fighters look set to be heading into
hibernation after Dave
Grohl announced the news this past
Saturday (Sep.30) after performing at New York's Global Citizen Festival in
Central Park, reports NME.
This isn't the first time Grohl has alluded to a possible hiatus
period for the Foos and in August he had UK fans scratching their
heads at the 2012 Reading & Leeds Festivals after announcing
"last show for a long time", as the band headlined the
final night of the festival.
However, his revelation this past weekend undoubtedly cements the
fact that the band will be taking an indefinite time out.
Prior to the group performing 'Learn To Fly,' which was
only the band's fourth song of their set, Grohl said, "Without
making a big deal out of it, we don't have any shows after this.
This is it, man. Honestly I don't know when we're gonna do it
again…and this is the perfect place to do it." After then
ripping into fan favourites such as 'My Hero', 'Times
Like These', 'All My Life', 'Best of You'
and 'Everlong', Grohl told the audience, "I don't know
when, but we'll see you again."
Anyone lucky enough to gain entry to the free event in NY were
also privileged to witness Grohl and Dan
Auerbach of The Black Keys joined
fellow headliners Neil Young & Crazy
Horse for an extended version of 'Rockin' In The Free
