Schertler’s Magnetico Brings a New Sound to Musikmesse

Schertler's Magnetico Brings a New Sound to Musikmesse -

Frankfurt launch for Swiss manufacturer's revolutionary new magnetic pickup series.

At this year's Frankfurt Musikmesse, Swiss manufacturer Schertler introduces Magnetico, a revolutionary new magnetic pickup series for fretted instruments. Based on a completely different concept from standard single coil or humbucker pickups, Magnetico uniquely combines high-end Schertler electronics with active multiple coil technology. The result is a pickup with fast transient behaviour, incredibly flat frequency response and a transparent rich sound across the full range of the instrument.

The Magnetico range includes the A-Series models for use with acoustic guitars/banjos/mandolins and the E-Series models for electric guitars and basses. The R-Series is designed for replacing existing standard single coil or humbucker systems on specified guitar brands including Fender and Gibson. The S-Series is a custom pickup for build-in applications.

Frankfurt sees the immediate release of the A-Series AG6 for acoustic guitar, a compact pickup that fits inside the guitar's sound hole. It is equipped with volume control and external input (also with separate volume control) for connecting a second pickup. This enables sound from both pickups to be blended, creating the perfect result for each individual performance or recording. The AG6 system is designed for maximum flexibility and is available with either an internal Jack cable for fixed installation on the instrument, or an external Jack cable. Two new microphones will also be available for use with the AG6; an electrodynamic moving coil contact microphone and an external condenser mic. These various options offer guitarists a choice of six different packages to suit a range of requirements. Magnetico E-Series pickups will also be previewed at the show.

"Magnetico offers a new sound in the magnetic pickup panorama," says Drago Dujak, Schertler's International Sales Manager.

"The series differs from our other pickup ranges by combining a new technological approach with specially developed electronics. The sound really has to be heard to be believed and we are very excited about introducing the various Magnetico models into the market."

A full range of Schertler contact microphones and acoustic amplifiers will also be on show including the recently released, single-channel, compact GIULIA, latest addition to Schertler's Classic amplifier series.
