Bon Scott Memorial Planned for his Scottish Birthplace
Legendary AC/DC frontman, Bon
Scott is to be immortalised with a memorial statue in
his birthplace of Kirriemuir, Scotland.
According to the
HenneMusic the hard rock icon, who died aged 33, emigrated from
the Scotland with his family when he was six.
Kirriemuir community group DD8 Music, who mastermind the annual
Bon Scott music festival in the town,
have approached sculptor John McKenna to design the statue
as a lasting tribute.
"It's early days, but it's a great honour. Bon Scott was an
icon from my teenage years."
Scott was found dead in February 1980 from acute alcohol poisoning
after a night out in London.
