Bon Scott Memorial Planned for his Scottish Birthplace - Legendary AC/DC frontman, Bon Scott is to be immortalised with a memorial statue in his birthplace of Kirriemuir, Scotland.
According to the HenneMusic the hard rock icon, who died aged 33, emigrated from the Scotland with his family when he was six. Kirriemuir community group DD8 Music, who mastermind the annual Bon Scott music festival in the town, have approached sculptor John McKenna to design the statue as a lasting tribute. McKenna said: "It's early days, but it's a great honour. Bon Scott was an icon from my teenage years." Scott was found dead in February 1980 from acute alcohol poisoning after a night out in London.
