DHD6BK Gloss Black
The new Hodads - all at £429 UK RRP - are available in Black, Blue Metallic and Red Metallic as guitars, and in Black and Blue Metallic as basses. Similar to their predecessors in looks and features, they all feature maple C-shape necks with rosewood fingerboards - for that classic Dano feel - along with the unique masonite-topped body we all know and love, which produces a beautifully loud and brash tone acoustically and electrically.
The pickups are of the classic Danelectro lipstick variety, with two single coils on the basses, and two pairs of lipsticks on the guitars (with a coil tap option available via a push/pull pot). These being Danelectros, the pickups are wired in series - as opposed to many other guitars, which are wired in parallel - so flick to the middle setting for a load of extra beef!
A joy to pick up and play, these new Hodads take Danelectro's classic looks and feel - and the vibe that has seduced superstars like Jimmy Page, John Entwistle, Mark Knopfler and Jimi Hendrix over the years - and bring them bounding into the present day as a uniquer proposition for 21st century guitarists and bassists. We defy you not to fall right under their spell the minute you pick them up!
Danelectro guitars, basses, amps and effects pedals are distributed exclusively in the UK and Eire by John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. For more information, visit the JHS website.
