Download Festival organiser Andy Copping has announced that the festival will be paying tribute to Marshall Amps founder Jim Marshall this year.
In a move that will see the event rename it's main stage for one year only, Copping tweeted: "The main stage at Download this year is going to be named The Jim Marshall Stage as a tribute to the great wall of speakers & amps man."
Andy also went on to say: "The music industry lost an innovator and a legend with the sad passing of Jim Marshall. We had to remember him in some way and having the main stage dedicated to his name seemed the perfect tribute."
With only eight weeks to go until Download Festival 2012 opens its gates, organisers have confirmed another 19 acts who'll appear across the weekend of 8, 9 and 10 June at Donington Park, Castle Donington.
