As Van Halen close out the string of dates before the famous postponement of the rest of their tour, this month's iGuitar Magazine cover star Eddie Van Halen has moved to reassure fans that it was, as had been reported, simply a matter of the band being tired. In a new interview, the guitarist, and his son Wolfgang invited CNN into their home to quash any rumours and give fans a peek into Eddie's famous 5150 home studio, where they invited cameras into drum room, the guitar room and the tape vault, which is filled with boxes of demos.
The band have considered recording another new album and, as with ' A Different Kind of Truth,' this room filled with old recordings and demos may just provide the inspiration for the sessions.
"I always kind of thought that it was just easier to write a new song than [dig through all the old ones]," Eddie said. "But there's a lot of music up there that's waiting to be heard."
The duo also insisted that there were no conflicts with lead singer David Lee Roth. "He's hilarious," Wolfgang continued. "We watch him on stag. He makes us crack up all the time."
