Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros Rarities Included on Upcoming Reissues - Joe Strummer's post-Clash days performing at the helm of The Mescaleros were short-lived when you compare with his Clash-tenure, however the reggae fusion outfit still managed to release three albums between 1999 up until the punk icons death in 2002.
Following the break-up of The Clash in 1985, Strummer began work with The Mescaleros in the mid to late 90s. They released their first full album 'Rock Art and the X-Ray Style' in 1999 and followed up with 'Global a Go-Go' in 2001. A third album, 'Streetcore' was released posthumously after Strummer's death in 2002. In what would have been Strummer's 60th birthday year The Mescaleros have re-released the final two albums packaged with bonus material such as live b-side recordings and previously unheard numbers.
