Rolling Stones Have no Plans to Play Glastonbury or Retire Any Time Soon - The Rolling Stones have quashed any talk of them retiring or performing their first headline slot at Glastonbury next year. UK tabloid the Sunday Mirror reported at the weekend that the rock icons were planning to bow out on a high with a slot at the UK's biggest music festival. However, it has since been reported by the Guardian that there is no truth in the claims and, despite everyone's wishes, the band have not been approached to perform at the 2013 edition. Glastonbury's press office has shed some light on the rumours and has revealed that the 'Stones to play Glastonbury' mutterings are nothing new, as they are one of the few bands to never perform at the festival. However, up until today there has been no communication between Glasto organizers and The Stones people. A spokesman said: "Everybody in the year off thinks they've come up with the perfect Glastonbury lineup. But at the moment there isn't anything to confirm or deny."
