Tony Iommi Pens Track for Eurovison Song Contest -
Earlier this week it was rather unexpectedly revealed that Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi is the man behind the Armenia's Eurovision Song Contest entry. The track, entitled 'Lonely Planet,' will be performed by Dorians and was selected via a national vote on 2nd March. Until now the track and its 'mystery' composer had been kept under wraps, however this week Iommi has begun to discuss the project, telling the BBC: "I've done a lot of things, but never that," Iommi tells the BBC. "The thing is, I've always thought, 'oh no, not the Eurovision', and here I am in it now." On his reaction after first being asked to pen the track, Iommi said: "I first said, 'oh God, I don't know' - it seemed really strange, me doing a Eurovision song, I don't usually do that," he said. "But I said, 'I've got a rock ballad, I'll send it over." Tony Iommi and his Black Sabbath cohorts are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album '13,' which is scheduled for release in June.
